What is the reason for not earning a livelihood? Is this witchcraft, despite reciting Surat Al-Baqarah, seeking forgiveness, supplicating, and giving charity with the intention of healing and earning a livelihood?
One should be content with Allah's decree and destiny, and be patient in times of tribulation, for minds are incapable of comprehending Allah's wisdom. Allah the Almighty says: "But perhaps you hate a thing and it is good for you; and perhaps you love a thing and it is bad for you. And Allah Knows, while you know not." Seek provision in lawful ways, and seek help through frequent seeking of forgiveness. Allah the Almighty says: "And O my people, ask forgiveness of your Lord and then repent to Him. He will send [rain from] the sky upon you in showers and add strength to your strength." And know that striving in obedience to Allah is a cause for expanding provisions and attaining Allah's blessings. Allah the Almighty says: "And if only the people of the cities had believed and feared Allah, We would have opened upon them blessings from the heaven and the earth." Strive in obedience to Allah and repent from sins, for disobedience to Allah is the cause of every affliction. Allah the Almighty says: "And whatever occurs to you of disaster - it is because of what your hands have earned; and He pardons much." Adhere to obedience to Allah, and strive in supplication. Allah the Almighty says: "And your Lord says, 'Call upon Me; I will respond to you.'"
