How can I respect my mother and protect her from herself, while encouraging my father to be patient and take care of his health, given the marital disputes between them?

Allah Almighty has permitted a man to marry up to four women, provided he observes justice. The believing woman must submit to this. The first wife should be advised that marrying a second wife is not forbidden, and that she should care for her husband and treat him well. Her distress is a trial that she should meet with patience and seeking reward from Allah. If she cannot be patient, she is permitted to ask for a divorce. The husband and the wife's family are advised to be patient and pious, and to avoid harming others, as causing harm to others is forbidden.
