A successful marriage is built upon choosing a righteous wife of good religious character, and marrying off a young man whose religiosity and character are approved. It is disliked for a girl to reject a suitor of good religious character and morals on the pretext of not knowing him, as this leads to forbidden acts. Rather, she should ask his family about him and perform the prayer. She has the right to reject him if she does not feel comfortable with him, provided that repeated rejections do not occur. A girl must not establish a relationship with a man in the hope of marriage.
