What is the meaning of "designating the spouses" in the conditions of marriage, and is it permissible for a 45-year-old divorced woman to marry herself without a guardian? Should the mahr (dowry) and sadaq (dower) be written in the currency of the country where the marriage takes place, or in the currency of the spouses' country? Is it permissible to write the spouses' residency permit numbers in the marriage contract?

For the validity of a marriage contract (nikah), it is stipulated that both spouses must be identified by name or a distinguishing characteristic. A woman's marriage is not valid except with her guardian (wali), based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) sayings: "There is no marriage except with a guardian," and "Any woman who marries without the permission of her guardian, her marriage is invalid." As for the dowry (sadaq), it is subject to the agreement of the couple on any currency. Documenting the marriage is beneficial for preventing disputes, but it does not affect the validity of the marriage if its conditions are met.
