Is understanding the proof or attaining the proof a condition for its establishment, and what are the scholars' sayings regarding that?

The proof is established when it reaches the accountable individual in a manner they understand. The establishment of this proof varies according to times, places, and persons. There are two meanings for understanding the proof: The first is understanding the meanings of the evidences, and this is essential. It is not sufficient for a verse to be recited to a non-Arabic speaker who does not understand it. Rather, the proof must be in the language of the one against whom it is established, so that they may understand its meaning. The second is for them to understand that this proof is more compelling than their doubt, and this is not a condition.
