The answer

If the saved money reaches the , becomes obligatory on it. The hawl (one lunar year) is calculated from the day the nisab is completed according to the Hijri date, and its Zakat is paid on the same day in the following year, provided it has not fallen below the nisab.

Any money saved from the salary during the hawl will have a separate hawl according to the majority of scholars.

For convenience, it is permissible to pay the Zakat for all the money in advance when Zakat becomes due on the first amount saved.

The nisab amount is equivalent to 85 grams of pure gold or 595 grams of pure silver, and the due Zakat is 2.5%.

There is no Zakat on cars and houses, nor on a wife's ornamental gold according to the majority of scholars if it reaches the nisab. Abu Hanifa, however, held the view that Zakat is obligatory on it, and this is more cautious.
