Is it forbidden to name children after actors in Turkish TV series?

It is disliked to name children after immoral and sinful people, especially if they are disbelievers, because this constitutes imitating them and goes against what Muslim names should embody in terms of connection to religion and values. Some scholars have explicitly stated the impermissibility of naming children after disbelievers. It is, however, recommended to name children after righteous people and prophets, as this encourages the child to emulate them. As for Muslims naming their children after disbelievers, it is forbidden due to the imitation involved. The Permanent Committee for Scholarly Research and Ifta was asked about the ruling on wearing sports clothing with the names of disbelieving players written on them, and they prohibited it.
