Will a person be held accountable for obsessive-compulsive thoughts, especially those that involve the Divine Being, the Prophet, and one's spouse? Are these thoughts considered to be from Satan, even if they occur during Ramadan? What is the way to cure them?

You will not be held accountable for thoughts that you despise, for your aversion to them is a clear sign of faith. A person is held accountable for such thoughts if they believe in them and they settle in their heart, in accordance with the Almighty's saying: "Allah will not impose blame upon you for what is unintentional in your oaths, but He will impose blame upon you for what your hearts have earned." These thoughts are satanic whispers, and their cure lies in diverting yourself from them, not dwelling on them, and supplicating to Allah to ward them off.
