It has become clear that the questioner is afflicted with waswasah (obsessive whispering/doubts), and its only cure is to ignore it and not pay attention to it. The smell of impurity alone does not make something impure, and one must adhere to certainty. For someone afflicted with waswasah, there is a concession to adopt the lightest opinions until Allah cures him.
