What is the ruling on putting cotton in the ears out of fear of thunder, and what is its relation to verses 18 and 19 of Surat Al-Baqarah?

Placing cotton in the ear out of fear of thunder is not prohibited, and it has no relation to the verse in Surat Al-Baqarah. It is better to avoid doing so unless there is harm in not doing it. It is recommended to endure hearing it and to recite the prescribed supplications.
