There is no validity to the statement that Ibn Mas'ud, may Allah be pleased with him, was a student of Abu Hanifa, because Ibn Mas'ud passed away in the year thirty-two or thirty-three in Medina, while Abu Hanifa passed away in the year one hundred and fifty.
