Must every newspaper, box, or carton containing a sacred name, a verse, or a hadith be picked up as soon as it is seen, or only what the eye falls upon? Is it permissible to erase these names by painting over them instead of burning or burying them? And how can a Muslim not fear the blame of any blamer in the path of Allah?

One must strive to raise every text revered in Islamic law, such as the names of Allah and the Prophets. It is also commendable to raise other texts that some scholars have respected. If this becomes difficult, the obligation is lifted. A Muslim must seek to please Allah by acting according to His law, without caring about people's opinions. To erase letters, it is sufficient to remove or scratch them off, without specifically mandating burning or burying.
