Am I entitled to seek a divorce for harm, and how long is the waiting period for divorce, and is it permissible for me to spend the night outside the marital home?

If a husband mistreats his wife and is not receptive to reconciliation, she is permitted to seek a divorce. The 'iddah (waiting period) for a woman divorced through khul' (divorce at the wife's instance) or with a triple repudiation allows her to observe the 'iddah wherever she wishes, but she should not spend the night anywhere other than her home, nor should she leave it except out of necessity. However, if the divorce is revocable, she is not allowed to spend the night outside her home except with her husband's permission.
