Is it true that sins eradicate blessings and bring about punishment from Allah?

Committing sins is among the causes of Allah's wrath, the removal of blessings, the withholding of rain, and the dominion of enemies over us, as stated by Allah the Almighty: (And We certainly seized the people of Pharaoh with years of drought and scarcity of fruits that they might be admonished), and His saying: (So We seized each [of them] for his sin). The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Indeed, a servant is deprived of provision for a sin he commits." Therefore, a Muslim must repent from sins, while maintaining good thoughts of Allah, hoping for His forgiveness, and fearing His punishment, as Allah described His righteous servants: (Indeed, they used to hasten to good deeds and supplicate Us with hope and fear, and they were to Us humbly submissive), and (Those whom they call upon seek means of access to their Lord, [striving as to] which of them would be nearest, and they hope for His mercy and fear His punishment). Enjoining good and forbidding evil, establishing prayer, giving zakat, and obeying Allah and His Messenger are also obligatory. Nevertheless, one must take the necessary means and rely on Allah, for (And whoever fears Allah – He will make for him a way out) and (and provide for him from where he does not expect), and (And whoever fears Allah – He will make for him ease in his affair). Thus, repentance and steadfastness in obeying Allah, along with having good thoughts of Him, bring tidings of much good.
