Must the days of a vowed fast be observed consecutively, or may they be observed separately, if the vowed act is repeated?

The aforementioned vow is a vow of contention (nahr al-lajaj), and its maker has the choice between fulfilling it or offering an expiation for an oath (kaffarat ). If he chooses to fulfill it, he is bound by what he intended. If he intended continuity, it is binding upon him; otherwise, it is not.
