Is expiation incumbent upon one who falsely swore upon the Mus'haf, claiming the loss of money he did not originally possess?

If you swore falsely and intentionally, your oath is considered a "Ghamus oath" (a

perjurious oath), which is one of the gravest sins. You must repent by feeling remorse,

abstaining from the sin, and resolving never to return to it. As for expiation (kaffarah),

it is not obligatory for this oath according to the majority of scholars because it is a very

grave matter, as Ibn Mas'ud said: "We used to consider the Ghamus oath among the oaths

for which there is no expiation."
