What is the ruling on the money received by the questioner and his father as compensation for floods, based on a farm lease contract, even though they are not tenants, knowing that his father is in need? And what is the ruling on someone who receives multiple amounts of money through deception?

It is impermissible to take compensation designated for those affected unless one meets the stipulated conditions. Whoever takes public funds unlawfully has been warned by the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, of Hellfire on the Day of Resurrection, for he said: "Indeed, there are men who delve into the property of Allah without right, and for them is the Hellfire on the Day of Resurrection." So, if you are not among those affected, it is not permissible for you to take this money, and you must return it. The responsible committees must scrutinize those who are eligible, because giving to the ineligible is like depriving the eligible; both are injustice and betrayal.
