We ask Allah to grant you good health and well-being and to remove from you obsessive whisperings (waswas), for it is a curable ailment. We advise against resorting to oaths in order to perform an action, due to Allah's saying: "And guard your oaths." If you swear an oath and then break it, expiation becomes incumbent upon you, and the obsessive whisperings will increase. There is no sin upon you for swearing an oath to do something permissible, but expiation becomes incumbent upon you if you break it. To treat weakness of character, one must strengthen faith and trust in Allah, abandon obsessive whisperings, maintain obligatory duties, and increase in good deeds such as charity, night prayers, supplication (dua), and remembrance (dhikr). There are useful tips in the consultation section of the network regarding strengthening character and self-confidence, and we advise you to write to them.
