What should I do with the apartment and car acquired from unlawful money, after my repentance and desire to purify my wealth and my home?

For repentance to be complete, stolen property must be returned to its owners. If it is impossible to reach them, then one should give it as charity on their behalf. As for money earned from a prohibited act done by mutual consent, if its owner was ignorant of its prohibition, then it is lawful for him, as Allah Almighty says: (So whoever receives an admonition from his Lord and desists, he may have what has already passed, and his affair is left to Allah). If he knew of its prohibition and spent it, then there is nothing upon him. But if the money remains and he knows of its prohibition, then he must dispose of it by spending it on charitable causes, unless he is in need; in that case, he may take what he needs and give the rest in charity. This is the view chosen by Ibn Taymiyyah and Ibn al-Qayyim.
