Is it correct or incorrect to pause for a few seconds to set the intention for prayer—if one doubts whether it is Dhuhr or Asr, for example—while reciting the Basmalah or while rising from bowing?

If a worshiper doubts their intention or actions during prayer, they must investigate and dispel the doubt. If the doubt concerns a statement, their prayer is valid. However, if it concerns actions, the doubt must be dispelled before performing them; otherwise, the prayer becomes void. If the doubt occurs after the prayer or becomes frequent, it is disregarded and considered a mere whisper (waswasa) that should not be heeded.
