The answer

Evidence from the Qur’an, , and scholarly consensus (Ijma’) demonstrates the obligation of husbands to provide for their wives and fathers for their children. Allah, the Exalted, says: "And upon the father is their provision and their clothing according to what is reasonable" [Al-Baqarah: 233], and He says: "Let a man of wealth spend from his wealth, and he whose provision is restricted - let him spend from what Allah has given him" [At-: 7]. Scholars have unanimously agreed on the obligation of a husband to provide for his wife, unless she is disobedient (nashiz), and on the obligation of a father to provide for his minor children who have no wealth, without the mother’s participation as long as the father is present and able to provide. The husband must fulfill this right, and it is not permissible for him to procrastinate.
