Does the noble Hadith mean that every disobedient and immoral person who shows mercy to animals will enter Paradise?
Source: FtawySummarized from the full answer at Ftawy · imported Sep 2, 2026
Allah Almighty rewards the merciful and recompenses them. Allah forgave a man who gave water to a dog, and a prostitute who gave water to a dog, because of the mercy and good intention in their hearts. For that reason, the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "For every wet liver, there is a reward." However, this does not mean that every disobedient person who is merciful to animals will be forgiven, for the effacement of sins sometimes applies to minor sins and at other times to major sins, and it depends on sincerity and truthful intention. Indeed, deeds vary in merit according to the varying degrees of faith and sincerity in the hearts.
