How can one expiate the sin of consuming orphans' property after repentance, remorse, and seeking forgiveness?

The questioner should praise Allah for his repentance, which is only accepted by regretting the sin, abandoning it, resolving not to return to it, and returning injustices to their rightful owners. He must return the money he took unlawfully to its owners if they are alive, or to their heirs. If the guardian of an orphan is poor and in need, he may consume from the orphan's wealth in a reasonable manner, as Allah Almighty says: "And whoever is rich, let him abstain, and whoever is poor, let him consume in a reasonable manner." It is more cautious to return what was taken when one becomes affluent.
