Is the prayer to be completed individually, or by choosing an imam to complete what was missed of the prayer after the traveling imam says the taslim?

The best for those who join the prayer late, after the Imam has given the salutation, is for each of them to complete their prayer individually. They should not put forward one of them to lead them in prayer, in order to avoid the disagreement of those who do not consider it valid to be led by someone who joined the prayer late.
