What should a Muslim woman do if she wants to marry someone infected with herpes, knowing that he has repented of the mistake that led to his infection? And will Allah protect her from the disease if she marries him for religious reasons and in obedience to Allah?

A Muslim should not expose himself to tribulation, and this includes interacting with someone who has a dangerous and chronic contagious disease like herpes. Islamic law has forbidden this, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Let not one who is sick come upon one who is healthy." He also said: "Flee from themajdhūm (leper) as you would flee from a lion." Furthermore, the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, gave an oath of allegiance to a leper without shaking his hand, indicating the avoidance of causes of tribulation. Therefore, it is advisable not to marry a person afflicted with herpes.
