Is it permissible to adopt the view of not making up missed prayers and fasting over the course of eight years, due to hardship?

Prayer is of great importance in Islam; it is the second pillar after the two testimonies and the first thing a Muslim will be held accountable for. It is obligatory to maintain it and perform it with purity, which is a condition for prayer without which it is invalid.

What was prayed without purification intentionally, must be made up according to the majority of scholars, while some hold that it is not obligatory. If you omitted purification due to ignorance or forgetfulness, the majority also hold that making it up is obligatory, differing from Sheikh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah.

If you know the exact number of invalid prayers, you must make them up in order, otherwise, continue making them up until you are reasonably certain that your obligation has been fulfilled.

Whatever you missed of Ramadan fasts in the past must be made up, and if you do not know the exact number of days, continue making them up until you are reasonably certain that your obligation has been fulfilled.

As for the common person, it is permissible for him to follow someone whose knowledge and piety he trusts.
