Is it permissible to apply the description "the Sacred" (Al-Muqaddas) to the Quran and the Prophet? Was this reported from the Salaf? And is this term of Sufi origin?

It is permissible to describe the Holy Qur’an and the Prophet Muhammad, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, as "sacred" (muqaddas) because its meaning is "blessed and purified," and both descriptions apply to them. However, the Qur’an should not be described as "The Holy Book" (Al-Kitāb Al-Muqaddas) as a permanent designation, for fear of imitating Christians, as the Qur’an is purified from error and human speech. Similarly, the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, should not be described as "sacred" (muqaddas) to prevent exaggeration. The Qur’an and the Prophet have been described as "blessed" (mubārak) and "purified" (mutahhar) in religious texts.
