Must the price of pirated software be returned, in addition to the money earned from it, or should one work with it on a Mudarabah basis, if the profit resulted from personal effort after usurping the software?

Copyright is a contemporary issue that many modern scholars have addressed with fatwas, ruling that the author has a financial right that prevents others from trading in or publishing their work except with their permission. Whoever infringes upon this right, the author is entitled to financial compensation determined by the competent courts, equivalent to the loss they incurred.
