According to the majority of jurists, the husband is responsible for furnishing the marital home. Furnishing the home takes precedence over the recommended wedding feast if it is not possible to do both, because that which is obligatory takes precedence over that which is recommended. The wedding feast should be conducted with what is available, without extravagance.
