What is the condition of the people who are led to Paradise in chains?
Al-Bukhari narrated that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Allah marvels at people who enter Paradise in chains." Ibn Hajar explained that being in chains refers to their being restrained in this world before their conversion to Islam, meaning they enter Paradise after having been bound in this world. He mentioned that Abu Hurairah, in interpreting the verse: "You are the best nation produced for mankind," said that they bring people in chains until they embrace Islam. Ibn al-Jawzi clarified that the meaning of the hadith is that these people were captured and bound, and when they recognized the truth of Islam, they embraced it willingly. Thus, the compulsion of capture and restraint became a reason for their entry into Paradise.
