Is it permissible to wipe over socks after performing ghusl, given that there was a medical ointment on the foot before putting them on?

For the permissibility of wiping over the khuffs and what is analogous to them, it is a condition that they be worn after a complete purification. So, whoever performs ablution or a ritual bath (ghusl) for major impurity (janabah) and their ablution is not invalidated, may wear socks (sharāb) and wipe over them, and the presence of ointment on the foot does not harm, as long as there is no barrier on the wiped area. However, if someone performs a non-obligatory bath and does not perform ablution afterwards, then wears the khuffs, wiping over them is not permissible. Wiping over the khuffs becomes invalid upon the occurrence of something that necessitates a ritual bath (ghusl). So, if the wearer of the khuff becomes in a state of major impurity (ajnab), they must remove the khuff and perform a ritual bath.
