Sultan Mahmud ibn Sebüktegin al-Ghaznawi, is the King Yamin al-Dawla, Conqueror of India, Abu al-Qasim Mahmud ibn Nasir al-Dawla Sebüktegin al-Turki, ruler of Khorasan. He assumed power after his brother Ismail, and his dominion extended to India, Sindh, Khorasan, and other lands. He was renowned for his courage, generosity, and noble character. He passed away in the year 421 AH.
