Are the Syrian protesters who are killed by the Syrian army's bullets considered martyrs?

It is not permissible to transgress against participants in legitimate demonstrations or to kill them. As for one who is killed in the path of enjoining good and forbidding evil, clarifying and demanding the truth, redressing grievances, and supporting the oppressed, we hope for him the reward of martyrs, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "Whoever is killed defending against an injustice is a martyr," and "Whoever is killed defending his property is a martyr, whoever is killed defending his blood is a martyr, whoever is killed defending his religion is a martyr, and whoever is killed defending his family is a martyr." Ali ibn Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Whoever is unjustly imprisoned by the ruler and dies in that prison is a martyr. Whoever is unjustly beaten by the ruler and dies from that beating is a martyr. And every death a Muslim dies is martyrdom, though the degrees of martyrdom vary."
