What is the ruling on returning only the one thousand Riyals I took from the insurance money we obtained through deception, or is it obligatory to return a larger amount?

Allah has opened the gates of His mercy to those who repent. The conditions for repentance are: abstaining from the sin, regretting it, resolving not to return to it, and restoring rights to their owners if they pertain to the rights of people.

Deception and fraud to seize others' money are major sins. If everyone participated in defrauding the company, the money is to be divided equally among them, regardless of whose name the check was issued in or what each one received. They are accountable for their actions.

The money taken through fraud must be returned to the insurance company, even if its actions and contracts are forbidden, and it is not permissible to give it away as charity.

It is not a condition for someone who wishes to restore rights to reveal their identity. They can send the amount by any means that ensures it reaches its rightful owners without embarrassing them.
