How should one deal with food or perfumes that contain alcohol, and is it necessary to inquire about the type of vinegar used in food, and what is the ruling on praying in a place where perfume containing ethyl alcohol has been applied?

If vinegar contains alcohol or other intoxicants before it transforms and loses its intoxicating characteristic, then it becomes impure (najis) and its use is forbidden, based on the words of the Almighty: "O you who have believed, indeed, intoxicants, gambling, [sacrificing on] stone altars [to other than Allah], and divining arrows are but defilement from the work of Satan, so avoid it that you may succeed." (Quran 5:90). And based on the words of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "Whatever intoxicates in large quantities, a small quantity of it is unlawful." The basic principle regarding food is permissibility and lawfulness unless its harm or impurity is certain. Therefore, there is no need to inquire about something whose unlawfulness is doubtful.
