Is it permissible to inform a patient with terminal cancer of the truth of his illness so that he may be convinced to quit his job in his country of residence and return to his homeland to settle?

There is no disease without a cure. Cancer is one of those diseases for which medicine has not yet found a cure for some of its cases, but that does not mean it has no cure. Psychological stresses have significant repercussions on health. It is not permissible to inform a cancer patient of the truth of their illness if that would worsen their condition. They can be persuaded to travel for treatment without explicitly stating the illness. If that is not possible, preserving their health takes precedence over financial considerations. They can be reminded to write a will, as it is prescribed for a Muslim not to let a night pass without having their will written.
