How can one resist the severe and repeated temptations of fornication?

We advise the brother to fear Allah, be mindful of Him, and praise Him for His blessings. He should ask Allah for good character, just as He has blessed him with good physical appearance. He must stay away from places of temptation and desires, lower his gaze, and remember that Allah protected Yusuf (Joseph), peace be upon him, because he sought refuge in Him and devoted his religion sincerely to Him. We also advise him to hasten to marry if he is able, for it is more lowering of the gaze and more protective of one's chastity. If not, he should fast, for it is a shield for him.
