What is the ruling on dealing with Facebook?

It is permissible to use Facebook for beneficial and lawful matters, provided that it does not lead to neglecting obligations or wasting time. Its use is forbidden for unlawful activities such as conversations between genders and promoting destructive ideas. It is better for a Muslim to utilize their time in what benefits them and in obedience to Allah.
