It is forbidden to exhume a grave as long as it has not been confirmed that the deceased has completely disintegrated, because it is reserved for the deceased. It is not permissible to sit on it or exhume it, out of respect for the sanctity of the deceased. Assaulting the deceased is as forbidden as assaulting the living. Therefore, any action that involves disrespecting the grave or exhuming it must be avoided, unless it is for a benefit related to the deceased, or after confirming that the earth has completely consumed the deceased.
