Is it permissible to eat honey into which a dead mouse fell a long time before its death?
If a mouse falls into solidified honey, the mouse and the surrounding portion that is presumed to have been contaminated should be discarded, and the rest may be used. However, if the honey is liquid, it should all be poured out and not used. This is the opinion of the majority of scholars, and it is the most preferable and cautious view. Sheikh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah, however, held the view that it is permissible to use it as long as it has not changed.
