Is it permissible to sell date molasses in which a mouse fell and was then removed, or must it be disposed of? And if the mouse is not found after searching for it, is it permissible to sell the date molasses?

If a mouse is removed alive from a substance, the substance does not become impure. However, if the mouse dies in it, or falls into it dead, then if the substance is solid, impurity does not spread throughout it. The mouse and whatever solid it touched should be discarded, and the rest remains pure, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying concerning a mouse that fell into ghee: "Throw it and what is around it away, and eat the rest." The definition of a solid substance is one that is coherent and prevents the transfer of impurity. However, if the substance is liquid, then it all becomes impure, and similarly, if the mouse is consumed within it. In such a case, it is not permissible to sell it, but it is permissible to use it for purposes other than human consumption or drink.
