What is the ruling on the prayer of one who completed it with the congregation but did not say the opening Takbir (Takbirat al-Ihram)?

The opening Takbir (Takbirat al-) is an obligatory part of prayer, without which the prayer is invalid. So, whoever forgets it and begins the prayer, then remembers that he did not pronounce the Takbir, must say the opening Takbir, because he has not actually entered the prayer at all. Therefore, whoever forgets the opening Takbir and completes the prayer in that state, he is required to repeat the prayer.
