Naming with "Elias" (Ilyās) and "Aseel" (Asīl) is permissible according to Islamic law. "Elias" is the name of a prophet of Allah the Almighty, and many Arabs, both in ancient and modern times, have been named after him, including the grandfather of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. The assertion that the name is forbidden or Christian is incorrect, for the names of the prophets are the best of names. As for "Aseel," its meaning is smooth and even, and when referring to cheeks, it means long and flowing.
