Is a wife considered sinful if she requests a divorce due to her unhappiness with her husband, who constantly threatens her with divorce, and her desire to live in peace?

Marital problems are normal, and a husband threatening his wife with divorce is not wise and contradicts good companionship. However, these problems or threats alone do not justify the wife seeking divorce unless there is clear harm. If the wife dislikes her husband, she has the right to khul' (divorce at the wife's instance) in exchange for compensation she pays him. This is with emphasis on not rushing into khul' before exhausting means of reconciliation, due to the harm it often causes to children.
