Is it from the Sunnah for the Imam to hold a stick during the sermon?

Scholars differed regarding the ruling on the preacher leaning on a stick or similar object during the Friday sermon, with two views:

The first view: It is recommended and desirable. This is the view of the majority of scholars, including the Malikis, Shafi’is, and Hanbalis. They cited the hadith of Al-Hakam ibn Hazn that the Prophet (peace be upon him) stood on Friday, "leaning on a stick or a bow."

The second view: It is disliked. This is the adopted view of the Hanafis, because it is "contrary to the Sunnah." They argued that it is not established that the Prophet (peace be upon him) leaned on anything after the adoption of the minbar, and that leaning is only done out of necessity.
