If a person buys a car for a deferred price, then sells it to a third party for a lower cash price to obtain liquidity, this is permissible according to the majority of scholars and is called "Tawarruq sale." However, if he sells it back to the original seller for a lower price, this is "Inah sale," and the majority of scholars prohibit it because it is a means to usury (riba). The difference between them is that Inah involves the return of the commodity to the original seller, whereas in Tawarruq, the buyer disposes of the commodity to whomever he wishes.
