What is the ruling on denying the existence of ghouls (ghilan)? And are they a type of jinn?

Scholars have differed in their interpretation of the Hadith "there is no ghoul (ogre/demon)." Some have negated the existence of the ghoul entirely, asserting that jinn cannot take human form. Others believe that the ghoul existed before the Prophethood but was prevented from appearing after the Revelation. However, the majority view is that the negation is not of the existence of jinn, but rather of their ability to truly transform and influence with the aim of misguidance, citing Hadiths that prove the appearance of jinn, such as the Hadith of Abu Hurayrah with the devil. Whoever denies the jinn's ability to truly transform, while believing in their existence, is not considered an innovator or misguided. As for anyone who denies the existence of the jinn world, that is a statement of disbelief, unless they are ignorant, in which case they should be taught.
