What is the ruling on working in the booking and marketing of hotels and tourist trips for transit passengers?
Working in hotel reservations and marketing is permissible in principle, as it involves mediation and guidance towards a permissible benefit. However, this principle changes if it becomes known that the person requesting the reservation intends to use the place for an unlawful act; in such a case, booking for them is prohibited, as it constitutes aiding in sin.
Likewise, marketing for hotels that permit alcoholic beverages, facilitate immorality, and provide venues for nudity and unlawful mixing is prohibited, as marketing for these hotels is an indication towards evil. What applies to reservations also applies to tourist trips. If both are free from religious prohibitions, then working in them is permissible.
