What about the issue of self-accountability?

Accountability is a priority for those with awakened hearts, for they have realized that Allah is aware of their every movement and stillness, and He will hold them accountable for them. Therefore, whoever holds themselves accountable before the Day of Reckoning will have their reckoning lightened, their answers prepared, and their return made good. As for those who do not hold themselves accountable, their standing on the Day of Resurrection will be prolonged, and their misdeeds will lead them to destruction. They have cited Quranic verses to emphasize the necessity of accountability, such as the Almighty's saying: (O you who have believed, fear Allah. And let every soul look to what it has put forth for tomorrow) [Al-Hashr: 18]. And prophetic traditions, such as his (peace be upon him) saying: "The feet of a servant will not move on the Day of Resurrection until he is asked about his life and how he spent it, about his knowledge and what he did with it, about his wealth from where he acquired it and on what he spent it, and about his body and how he wore it out." Umar ibn al-Khattab used to say: Hold yourselves accountable before you are held accountable.
