Ibn Hajar ruled the hadith: "The killer of Husayn is in a coffin of fire, upon him is half the punishment of the people of the world," as weak. Ibn Taymiyyah said it is among the hadiths of liars, condemning the specification of half the punishment of the people of the world for the killer of Husayn, and questioning the fate of the punishment of Pharaoh's people, the hypocrites, and the killers of prophets. He mentioned that the killer of Uthman is more sinful than the killer of Husayn.
